What is the Workforce Training Fund?
A grant program for employees to train their workers.
What is its purpose? To make Massachusetts
businesses more competitive, to give workers the skills they
need to succeed, to grow wages, and to increase employment
in Massachusetts.
How does it work? A grant from
the workforce training fund + an equal amount from you to "match" the
grant = training for your employees.
What size training grant can I get? Training grants range in size from $2,000 to $250,000.
How do I apply? Fill out a Workforce
Training Fund application.

I'm a small business. Is this really
for me? Absolutely! While companies of all sizes are eligible
to apply, the fund's focus is on small to medium-sized companies.
In fact, about 15% of all grants have been awarded to companies
with fewer than 20 employees, and nearly 30% to companies with
50 or fewer employees. Another avenue that might work well
for you as a small business is the Workforce
Training Fund Express. For information on that program, click
here. How
long do I have to wait? Decisions
are made about 2 months after the application deadline, so
plan your training program for 4 months after the deadline.
