What is Workforce Development?

Here's our definition: Workforce Development includes all of the public and private investments and activities undertaken to ensure that individuals are employable and have jobs.

Simultaneously the workforce development system works to ensure that companies can find and develop the skilled workforce they need to be successful in the world marketplace.

55plus work programThe Cape & Islands WIB has undertaken a project designed to both assist Cape residents who are 55+ in their search for a meaningful job, and to educate local employers about the benefits of hiring 55+ individuals.

The WIB currently has an inventory of over thirty 55+ individuals available to employers. Many are trained in customer service and computer applications. For more information call Debra Banwick at (508) 862-6134.

Youth Council

Career opportunities

The Youth Council is a collaboration among business & education professionals, local government, community leaders and youth that aims to provide all youth with opportunities to become productive and satisfied adults.
