Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report Update

In the week ending June 13, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 608,000, an increase of 3,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 605,000. The 4-week moving average was 615,750, a decrease of 7,000 from the previous week's revised average of 622,750.

An Overview of the Grant Seeking Process:  This class will provide you with an overview of the process of seeking grants to support a nonprofit organization.  Whether you are a nonprofit staff member looking to supplement your organization's revenue or a volunteer who has some time to give and wants to help a nonprofit, this class will help you determine if it makes sense to spend time seeking grants from corporate or private foundations.  Based on the Instructor's copyrighted "50-30-20 Approach to Seeking Grants", this is a highly interactive class and you will leave knowing if spending time seeking grants is a good idea for your nonprofit.

 

Instructor:Jane B. Ford, M.Ed. has written grant proposals for more than 25 years and taught others to do so for the past 18 years.  She has secured grants ranging from $1,000 to more than $450,000 for wide variety of nonprofits.

QuickBooks w/Bookkeeping Basics:  Gain a better understanding of the accounting cycle so you can understand the financial end of the business.  Understand a chart of accounts, debit and credits, financial statements, accrual vs. cash basis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, adjustments and more.

Mondays, June 29th, 6:00-8:00 pm (6 sessions) Fee $ 179

Turning Profits through Networking:  Networking can be good for business, but just signing up and attending is not enough.  Learn what to do prior to an event, specific actions to do during the event, and how to correctly follow up to win over a customer.  Learn the 10 mistakes made at networking events and how to avoid them.

Instructor: Maryann Murphy, MSW, has a Bachelors' degree in Psychology and a Masters' degree in Social Work

Time Management:  Learn how to de-stress and rejuvenate your busy life.  Discover a personal relationship with time.  Determine the difference between important and urgent.  Participants will be able to prioritize based on importance as well as urgency; identify their most problematic time-wasters; and create their own time-management plan.
