Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report Update
In the week ending Jan. 16, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 482,000, an increase of 36,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 446,000. The 4-week moving average was 448,250, an increase of 7,000 from the previous week's revised average of 441,250. |

Intensive Nurse's Aide Training |
Upper Cape Tech Continuing Education Division Offers: Intensive Nurse's Aide Training
This course will prepare you to take the State Certification Exam. The Nurse's Aide course covers basic nursing skills, personal care skills, recognition of mental health and social service needs, basic restorative services, and resident rights. You will assist in taking vital signs of patients and meet their hygiene, safety, nutrition, exercise, elimination, comfort and oxygen needs. Employment opportunities include: hospitals, nursing homes, home health care agencies, domiciliary care, and residential care facilities. Uniforms, gait belts and certification fees are not included in tuition. Mantoux test required prior to clinical rotation. Must be able to lift, push, move and turn at least 50 lbs. Final acceptance depends upon an acceptable CORI. No refunds are given due to an unacceptable CORI.
Fee: $885.00 (tuition does not include textbook, $85.00 or gait belt $10.00)
Course will be held at Upper Cape Tech, 220 Sandwich Road, Bourne, Mass. & Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility, 146 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, Mass.
