Cape Area Management Program (CAMP)

Over the course of this three year grant, the Cape and Islands Workforce Investment Board hopes to train more than 150 supervisors and managers in the basics of practical management, team work, project management and continuous quality improvement. Each training module is comprised of lecture and discussion with a peer to peer practicum (practice new skills, share best practices, addressing real time problems). Students learn, develop and practice skills in guiding, coaching and developing their employees, performance assessment, conflict management, team development, consensus building, project and time management, and quality improvement.  Career coaching is also offered to all participants to assist them in thinking strategically about their career and continuing training needs.

CAMP is a cross sector training program targeting management occupations on the Cape and Islands.  Industries such as hospitality, retail, healthcare, real-estate, financial services, human services, public administration, construction and the arts can join the program.  Graduates earn four college credits from the National Graduate School. To date 55 Cape Cod employees from 12 businesses and organizations from Barnstable to Brewster successfully completed the program.
